Calorimetry of a phase slip in a Josephson junction

چکیده

In a Josephson junction, which is the central element in superconducting quantum technology, irreversibility arises from abrupt slips of gauge-invariant phase difference across contact. A slip (QPS) often visualized as tunneling flux transverse direction to weak link, produces dissipation. this work, we detect instantaneous heat release caused by QPS junction using time-resolved electron thermometry on nanocalorimeter, signaled an increase local electronic temperature link and subsequent relaxation back equilibrium. Beyond providing cornerstone experimental thermodynamics form observation elementary process, result sets ground for experimentally addressing ubiquity dissipation, including that sensors qubits.
